Complete® MoisturePLUS TM contact lens solution was recalled in May 2007, after the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) linked it to an increased risk of Acanthamoeba keratitis, a serious and potentially blinding eye infection. It has been kinked with:
Acantamoeba Keratitis
Cornea Damage
Severe Eye Infections
Blindness
Symptoms of Acanthamoeba are similar to other common eye infections and can effect people differently. Some of the common Acanthamoeba keratitis symptoms include eye pain, red eyes, blurred vision, sensitivity to light, feeling that something is in the eye and excessive tearing. Since the symptoms are so common, Acanthamoeba can be difficult to diagnose. However, early detection is crutial to prevent more serious injury. Although the FDA has advised consumers to stop using the recalled contact lens solution, and to replace the lenses and storage containers they have been using and discard unused, if you have suffered a serious eye infection and want to start a lawsuit, you should safely store the containers in a place where the solution will not be used. If you or someone that you know has utilized the Complete MoisturePLUS Contact Lens Solution and have had any health problems, please do not hesitate to contact us for further information or to discuss your rights.
